We have teamed up with Bulkypix & Pix’n Love Editions to make this game.

You’ll tell me… mmm… it oddly looks like 03-Pixel! Well you are right… here are the features common to both games:

Pix the Cat is the Hero!
Both are platform games,
Both were handmade by the Pastagames crew.

Apart from that… they are pretty different games.

03-Pixel! is made to be played will a “real” gamepad, plays are long and require extreme dexterity (those who have finished the game know) and the levels are sprinkled with hidden enigmas.

1Pix’n Love Rush has been designed specifically for the iPhone. The game controls have been simplified; the play time is shorter and better adapted to phone players.

And in Pix’n Love Rush, there is some Pix’n Love :)
You probably know this awesome Mook (Magazine-Book) edited by Florent Gorges’ and his fellow friends. It happens to be that these guys are friends of ours and that they often come over to the studio pay us a visit. When we told them about our project with big Pixels for iPhone, they couldn’t resist! They helped us out along the production, testing and commenting… That is how they have taken us into a ride along the video gaming history.

2Pix’n Love Rush is a simple score game. Collect the +s, avoid the -s, kill the demons, save the angels, watch out for your own pixel shots. Combo up like crazy, play like a god to reach max combo and stay there. Levels keep coming, some scroll, other are fix, some are speedy, other more relaxed… you’ll see…

In the Time Attack mode, each combo level comes with a graphical style, and each style is an ode to different time, to a different console, to a different pixel! The Infinite Mode also hosts graphical variety, check it out, they are as goofy as problematic when you play!

3Last but not least, Pix’n Love Rush will offer a new experience at each play. The level selection system never allows two identical games, but they are always balanced with a “possible points/second” structure. Don’t even try learning all the 125 levels by heart for they can be mirrored, they can come at various combo levels, with various graphical styles…

A worldwide LeaderBoard on OpenFeint allows you to compete with everyone, even Pix’n Love Rush’s game and level designer, Nadim (a.k.a. John Mouloud), who has hit the ridiculous score of 3.300.000 in the time attack mode… Good Luck! Also take a look at the game’s achievements, they are just stupid… enjoy ;)

IGN has selected our game for their “Editor’s Choice” (8,9 out of 10 ^^) in a delicious article

Take a look at the official Pix’n Love Rush CONTEST!!! answer a few questions and you may win one of the 3000 games available. Good luck!

Inspirations : The Penguin Menace

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

nadimnadim Talking about the old days,

Four years age, the actual Pastagames team worked for a mobile phone game editor called Filao Mobile. The mobile game industry was rough and this editor’s strategy unsuited. The company died and wes divided in various bits. Tough times… ah… old scars…

There are a few good things that survived this era; from which a good game, that didn’t get the success it deserved, it was called The Penguin Menace.

Sometimes, sipping on brandy, smoking cigars, our Golden retriever by the fireplace, we remember these days with a hint of nostalgia, and the pleasure we took in making this game. Our trenchcoats hanging, the rain pouring, a tear in our eyes, we long for a warm hug…

Hence our pleasure and satisfaction when we saw that a polish player somehow got a copy of the game and enjoyed it enough to put a video of our darling game on youtube.

Even if this has very little to do with Maestro! I can’t help sharing this video with you guys.

We’d be happy to know what you think of it… :)
